Join me for a night on the town in beautiful San Marcos and discover a whole new world of creative possibilities and, for the first time ever, learn my processing techniques with an optional live online editing session!

Night photography is a lot of fun and this class is great way to expand your photographic knowledge. Whether you’re a beginner or want to expand your current abilities, this class will give you the skills and knowledge necessary to capture amazing photos at night. This hands-on approach to learning is the quickest way to understand your camera’s functions and apply them not only to night photography, but all of your photographic endeavors.

This class is designed for beginner to intermediate photographers but all experience levels are welcomed. After demonstrating the basic concepts you’ll need to know, I’ll help you set up your camera and coach you throughout the evening. You’ll learn the best settings to use in different situations and receive guided instruction as as we photograph various locations, including downtown San Marcos and the river. You’ll also learn about advanced techniques like light painting, star trails, lightning and more!

The editing session will be held a few days after the class to give everyone time to go through their images and optionally submit the ones you’d like me edit. I’ll demonstrate my workflow from start to finish and show you exactly how I process my night shots. This includes RAW file adjustments to get the most out of your images, color and distortion correction, balancing highlights and shadows, combining exposures, time blending, creating dynamic lighting, removing unwanted elements and much more!

Requirements: You’ll need a sturdy tripod capable of supporting the weight of your camera and lens without wobbling and a digital camera that can accept manual settings. Any digital SLR will work and some point-and-shoots will too. Unfortunately, phone cameras will not work for this class. If you have any questions about the requirements please contact me.

There’s a limit of ten participants per session to ensure that you receive plenty of personal attention so reserve your spot today!

In this class you’ll learn the techniques I used to capture these photos:
